Industry Insights & Opportunities
GrowthLab and the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship: GrowthLab's principal, Tommy Benz, is advising the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship to address a pressing issue: large businesses utilizing small business subcontractors to win proposals without subsequently assigning them work. We have created a survey to gather data from small businesses who have experienced these challenges. Your input is crucial—please spare two minutes to fill out our Google Form and help us develop strategies to ensure small businesses can meaningfully contribute to larger projects.
OASIS+ Updates: For firms involved with the OASIS+ in the management and advisory domain, please note the recent GSA amendment. It requires firms that have previously submitted to submit the SF30 form through the Symphony portal, due to updates in the FAR. Details of this amendment can be found on SAM.gov. Additionally, for all of us waiting on the Marketing and Public Relations domain to be released, don't fret - that is coming and we'll share news as we have it.
M&A Activity: This spring, we're witnessing a notable surge in merger and acquisition activities among state and federal contractors. In the coming months, we are set to bring several, federally-focused strategically positioned firms to market, specializing in public health communications and transportation marketing. One of the agencies we are currently working with on their sale is a state-level public health communications firm based in New England. This firm boasts a robust profile with 20-25 full-time employees and an annual EBITDA of $800K-$1M, maintaining profit margins exceeding 20%. Interesting particularly for those that want to parlay into the $900M public health comms market or diversify with other state programs.
