Federal Marketing Communications Contract Awards (September)

FY23 is behind us, hope you each had a fruitful federal fiscal year. As you may suspect, we saw a very large number of awards in September - here is a sampling of the larger, competitive contract awards:

  • Arrow Arc won a $48M contract at the VA for the VHA recruitment marketing and advertising campaign and a $3M contract at the VA for strategic communications

  • Crosby Marketing won a $13M contract at USDA for summer nutrition support services as well as a $765K at USDA for aquaculture health communications and marketing outreach and a $350K contract at the USDA for the "defend the flock" media campaign

  • Chickasaw Federal Health won a $11M contract at the CDC for DPH communication support

  • Banyan Communications won a $11M contract at HHS for maternal health hotline communications and marketing campaign service

  • Schatz Publishing won a $8.7M contract for communications support services at the GSA and a $618K contract at the Secret Service for social media monitoring

  • Sage Communications won a $7.9M contract at the USDA for communications and marketing support services, a $375K contract at the USDA for OCDIO communications and engagement support services, as well as as a $250K at Central Program Planning Coordination and Support for its marketing campaign

  • Roman Mediaworks won a $4.5M contract at the FDA for multimedia support services at the Office of Communication and Education

  • Grupo Castano won a $3.1M contract at HRSA for their poison help campaign

  • IQ Solutions won a $2.6M contract at the FDA for strategic initiatives communication support services

  • Leonard Resource Group (LRG) won a $2.4M contract at HHS for meeting support services in addition to a $1M contract at the USDA for their communications campaign to cultivate the next generation of diverse agricultural professions

  • Red Carrot won a $2.2M contract at HRSA for their bullying prevention initiative as well as a $500K contract at DHS CBP for their intellectual property rights social media campaign and a $307K contract at DOT for STEM branding supplies

  • Montage Marketing won a $1.9M contract at the Millennium Challenge Corporation for public affairs, external affairs and communications support services and a social media implementation support services contract at the CDC for $138K

  • Ventana Productions won a $1.6M contract at the National Science Foundation for multimedia support and graphic design

  • Agenda won a $1M contract at USDA for outreach to inform the public about the inflation reduction act

  • TRF Productions won a $820K contract at the Federal Communications Commission for social media video production services

  • Hager Sharp won a $500K contract at the USDA for food loss and waste and a $245K training video at the FDA

  • Brunet-Garcia (Fors Marsh) won a $415K contract at the FTC for targeted media support services

  • Powell Strategies won a $356K contract at the VA for war related illness and injury study center communications services

  • The Hatcher Group won a $340K contract at NAGV for meeting and audiovisual services

  • Goldpath Communications JV won a $312K contract at the VA for animated whiteboard videos

  • BLN24 won a $250K contract at the CDC for health communications services

  • Interface Media Group won a $240K video production services contract at HHS supporting the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders

  • The Hannon Group won a $209K contract at AHRQ for the dissemination and communications support for their 20th anniversary campaign

And, as we've seen all year - the contract volume has been significant on several of the multi-award IDIQ/BPAs in the marketing communications space. On the CDC Health Marketing BPA, we saw several competitive task orders awarded in September including: 

  • Weber Shandwick's wins of $12M for ARX communications and media, $1.4M for vector-borne diseases communication, and $569K for focus groups among people with congenital heart defects, muscular dystrophies, or spina bifida

  • ICF's wins of $3.2M for drug overdose prevention strategic communications and $947K for the development of an online prostate resource center

  • FHI360's win of $2.8M for a new active people healthy nation educational campaign, $1.4M for the diabetes management collaborative, and $202K for excessive alcohol abuse

  • Westat's win of $1.7M for public health infrastructure and $623K for digital media package development to increase cervical cancer screening among underserved women

  • Ogilvy's win of $1.5M for entertainment education to enhance cancer public health communications campaigns

  • Sensis' win of $1.1M for dissemination and knowledge management system

  • RTI's win of $928K for implementing and developing the framework tool

  • Catmedia's win of $455K for communications support at NCEH

  • Banyan's wins of $359K for the head's up initiative, $312K for dengue vaccines communications, $229K for an outdoor air quality communication toolkit, and $106K for healthy babies native project

  • Hager Sharp's win of $319K for identifying and pitching the benefits of the national health interview survey

Meanwhile on the CMS IDIQ, we saw Ketchum win a $73M contract for outreach to encourage enrollment in medicare low income programs. And, on the PICS IDIQ at NIH, we saw a handful of task orders including: 

  • IQ Solution's wins of $10M for CDC COVID-19 bridge access program public education campaign support services and $700K for for communications support at NI

  • Fors Marsh's wins of $10M for social norming of pediatric vaccines campaign, $5M for SAMHSA 988 PSAs campaign, $651K for the US Public Health Service strategic communication and media strategy

  • Lumina's win of $156K for improving internal communications at Indian Health Service
